Thanks Rogers for not showing the Champions League Final . We pay 220 a month and its not enough right how much more you want another 200 to watch a soccer game. We are going to cancel the cable tv and keep the internet and the home phone. Thanks again great job guys i guess i can watch 6 hours of boring baseball

There is no point getting mad at ROGERS CABLE for not showing the Champions League final.  ROGERS CABLE is a BDU which is a distributor which distributes the signals they have carriage agreements with.  There is really no one to get mad at, except well DaZn for getting exclusive rights to the broadcast.  If DaZn had the rights to streaming and other networks could still buy the rights to the cable broadcast, then networks like Rogers Sportsnet could still pick up the feed, but its a tough world out there and yeah someone has exclusive rights to it now, go and complain to them.  I get your frustration, I have an uncle who lives in a hospital and internet is not an option for him only cable tv so its out of the question, but these greedy streaming broadcasters do not care about that they just want to make money reselling the services they do not care if we can not watch it any more

You don't need to pay Rogers any more. You do, however, need to pay the streaming service that outbid all others in order to watch it:  See earlier posts in this thread.

You might be right about the features, however I’m deeply concerned about the problems people are having with your ignite service. It’s more expensive and of the three people that I know who have igniteTV, all three are saying it’s glitchy (freezes, etc) . They seem to regret signing up for it. I also see similar posts in you community forum supporting these concerns.

I'm also facing the issue, Thanks so much, your suggestion worked for me.

My box turns off every couple of hours.

This has been happening for a couple of months. Have tried everything-new box, new remote, plug in another outlet, repairman. It reboots itself in about 5 minutes. Only affects the secondary box. Primary box with PVR works fine. Any suggestions?

: The fact that this happens with a new box indicates an external problem.  It could be signal- related. Give Rogers a call and have them check the signal at that specific box.  Here's a post on that topic, along with a link for checking the signal yourself.

https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/TV/Nextbox-3-0-PVR-Skips-Recorded-Playback-Only/m-p/387839#M42262

Another, more likely possibility is poor power at the box.  Although you tried a different outlet, that outlet may have been on the same electrical circuit.  Try plugging the box into a different circuit - you can check by turning off circuit breakers.  There may be something in the home that uses a lot of power on startup, which can drop the voltage on a particular circuit - microwave, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer, hair drier, heater, A/C, etc.  This is often an issue in older homes with undersized electrical panels, etc.

Can you temporarily swap the two boxes? If the issue follows the box, the box is likely the problem. If the issue stays with the location, then that electrical circuit or signal is the problem.

Re: Issues w/ Whole Home PVR

I have a Nextbox 3 PVR and a NB2.0 era terminal, both had been running in a Whole Home PVR setup without issue....until recently.

We had some renos done that cause me to have to unplug the PVR.  Just this morning, I noticed that I no longer have the Whole Home setup running.  Neither box shows the WHPVR icon in their display (the NB3.0 shows it briefly after a reboot, but it disappears).

I have rebooted both boxes numerous times, in differrent orders (NB3.0 first, the NB2; NB2 first then 3, leaving one box on while booting the other) but WHPVR won't come back.  I have checked my cable connections and they're all nice and tight.  The NB3 currently has a signal of 2.3dBvM with an SNR of 39dB.

I know its no longer an option to new subscribers, but I'd be rather disappointed if it is now being pulled from grandfathered accounts....

I’m having similar issues. I’ve tried all of the suggestions above 10X. No luck. Currently running most recent iOS on both my phone and iPad. Works on my phone not my iPad. Any suggestions?

Greetings !

I'm not aware of any change to the continued support of Whole Home PVR for grandfathered customers. You may find solace in knowing that I have seen this happen with Whole Home PVR in the past when everything was disconnected for an extended period of time.

The order I boot in is primary PVR first until it is fully rebooted, then the secondary boxes. How long did you have your boxes disconnected for? If it was unplugged for days and you waited 24 hours with the boxes plugged in with no change, I will need to manually push your account permissions to get the Whole Home PVR to reconnect.

Barring that, I may need to send a technical ticket if the issue isn't account related.

Please PM us here and I'll get working on a solution for you.

Regards,

RogersCorey

Sometimes my Whole Home PVR, with 3 boxes connected to the PVR, stops working, but if I leave it alone, it will start to work again in a few days.  We had a 2-3 day power outage last fall, and after the power came back everything eventually (day or two)  starting working.  The boxes turned on as soon as we got power and I never did any sort or power up sequencing.

When I first got the Whole Home PVR, and had the filter installed, I did not get the Whole Home PVR icon right away.  The technician said that once we record a show the PVR will initiate as syncing operation with the other boxes.  This happened as the technician said it would.

If nothing is currently set to record, trying recording a couple of shows on the PVR and if it starts to work in a day or two.

Now, whenever it stops working for some reason, I just leave it alone and it soon starts working again.

I'm in the process of doing the initial set up and I've been watching it cycle through boot-Ldlr-2 repeatedly for over an hour.

What does it mean?? Can I unplug it and start this dance over again?

I have been having that issues constantly on different showed! We also had our box changed recently because every time we watched a recorded show the show would freeze or crash...and the new (most likely recycled box) has the same
Issue. It’s utterly disappointing and frustrating that I am paying for something that that doesn’t work!!

Good evening ,

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums and thanks for posting.

It's disappointing running into any hiccups while setting up new equipment. That boot cycle definitely isn't normal. Please do try and unplug the PVR and verify the coaxial cable is tightly secured to the PVR from the wall outlet. After a minute or so, please plug the power cord back in.

If the issue continues, we'll need to test the signal levels to your home and try initializing the PVR again. Please send us a PM to @CommunityHelps if that is the case or contact our Technical Support. If you're not familiar with our PMing process, you can find the instructions here

Re: Xi6 box ethernet connection

The tech set up my basement Xi6 on the Ethernet port. It is for sure only 100mb! Motion pixelation was horrible!! I installed a wireless router in AP mode off the same 1000mb switch as the Xi6 was plugged into. I disconnected the Ethernet to the Xi6 and connected it to the WiFi and the motion pixilation mostly disappeared. This is counter intuitive but the Xi6 works better on WiFi than direct connected! Very disappointing!

Hey ,

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

Missing your favourite show whether it is on Rogers On Demand or a recording because of technical issues is frustrating. Please have a look at 's post about playback issues, found here. Most playback issues stem from a signal issue.

Please send us a PM to @CommunityHelps and we can test your signal out. If you're not familiar with our PMing process, you can find the instructions here

Barclays Premier Soccer joins UEFA soccer in being dropped from Canadian Cable in August 2019

I have finished sticking all the needles I was given in the kit into my Soccer On Canadian Cable TV Voodoo Doll. DAZN is now the only way you can watch soccer. I have not heard boo from any of those involved in soccer here north of the 49th in North America on this subject. Mortua Est - like the Romans said when they conquered Britannia!! What this means is that all involved are content to be downgraded TO A STREAMED SERVICE FROM LMEYLAND - you pays your 240 loonies a year and get what the rest of the world has on regular cable! Barclays Premier and UEFA - where all the elite players participate for the big bucks and honors. We are left here on cable to see MLS and our national teams. Adios - it's been nice knowing you!
