If you're looking for the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition that will show the Guide and control your PVR, the original was scrapped by Rogers and a new one is in the works.  Somehow, I don't expect to see it until they've rebuilt it with a complicated new interface like Navigatr. Man Mad

, you don't know how lucky you are not having this work in progress (?) forced on you. It was released in a limited area way before it was adequately tested and has turned out to be a disaster. Everybody hates it. At this point the roll-out has been halted until it's fit for human consumption.  Rogers has promised not to release it to any more customers until it's fully fixed. Right now, users are finding problems faster than they are getting fixed, so don't hold your breath.  Meanwhile, for your amusement, go back and read this thread from the beginning and also NAVIGATR UPDATE **WIPED MY DRIVE** .

There is another really annoying 'feature' in the new Navigatr that I have not seen mentioned previously.
The Nextbox 3 in my basement is used almost exclusively to record soccer. In most games, the teams, score and elapsed time is displayed continuously in a bar on the upper left corner.
Now, with Navigatr, when I FF or Rewind, a scrolling banner with program title, channel number and name is superimposed over the game bar, completely obliterating it, and since there is also no elapsed time value provided on the progress bar at the bottom, makes it impossible to know how much time you have forwarded or rewound.
If I remember correctly, in the previous RTN version, this information was displayed under the progress bar which was much less obtrusive. Certainly with SARA, which I still have on my 8642s, that is how it is.
This needs to be changed on any Navigatr update.
Better still - restore the old RTN to those inflicted with this retrograde guide.

I would have just deleted this because I decided to withdraw what I said.  Why oh why don't you give us the ability to delete and withdraw our statement if we changed our mind?

Sorry, but nothing more I feel like saying today - it has all been said before and for a mental health disorder it is not good for me to perseverate on the same things.

I find the Rogers Facebook page quite confusing. Down the middle there's a constant feed of Rogers promotional material occasionally interspersed with replies from customers with questions about problems. Then, on the left there is VISITOR POSTS, where people actually ask questions. The questions are about everything under the sun provided by Rogers. I think Rogers should create a new section just for questions and suggestions concerning Navigatr.  I sure hope all the suggestions and bug reports I see in this thread are being studied by Rogers software developers, because it should keep them busy for the foreseeable future before Navigatr is truly ready for wider release.

Hi

Its me again. Two more times this week when the same Currie cup Rugby game was advertised and on neither occasion did we get what was announced. How do we get this posted accurately?

There is little enough Rugby shown recently. The ITM Cup from New Zealand is in full swing at the moment with seven games a week. Last weekend we got one game. It was so much better when it was Setanta Sports with a great Facebook page as well for discussion and comment.

Is there some other way we can watch Rugby?

, you can delete or edit your post within a limited time. Otherwise, after the edit option is gone, you can click Report Content under the "gear" and ask the moderators to delete it.

The comment I deleted was asking/begging for just what you provided. What I and others have been asking for is for Rogers to be truthful about what has happened, where they are going, and an honest apology and acknowledge that beyond the inconvience they have so often acknowledged, that their own decisions created it.  This is what as a teacher, we taught students what an honest apology looks like.  No double speak, platitudes, empty apologies, but the straight up honest truth.

It is said that we have all had to resort to scarcasm, humour to just try to make us feel better over this whole mess.  It is either laugh, or scream and we have done them both. For now, I prefer to laugh.  Good job who ever wrote this.

Thanks, Bruce

I can find the edit option in the wheel, but had noticed that it disappears after a period of time.  I have not been able to find a delete.  I tried just editing all text out and ended up with a blank posting. Is this the way to delete?

Completely agree. I watch a fair bit of soccer, too, and had noticed this. Very annoying. Sometimes there is a game you just want to FF through until a goal is scored. This makes it quite a challenge and is definitely not as easy as before.

How feasible is this, Rogers ?"

Judging from this present fiasco I feel pretty confident in saying "hahahahahaha". Come on, now, what are you thinking? Rogers giving us something that would be ideal and work perfectly? Have you learned nothing here, Padawan?  Smiley Wink

It was a rhetorical question, very feasible especially bundle #1.

It works fine right now inToronto and Ottawa and many other places.
I  am confident that Rogers can get the rest working over the decade or two.

After several "Factory Resets" I still have a blank settings screen. Rogers tech visited today and said I need a new box but because I own it, it seems they won't do anything. Did anybody on this thread get their box fixed? If so how?

Rogers broke it. How is it possible that Rogers should not fix or replace it?

I would suggest posting this on the Rogers Facebook page for all to see.

Have you thought about giving the retention center a call. They seem to have more options available to them than the ordinary tech support and other groups. Perhaps they could swap out your box or come up with another solution. I have found that they were able to fix problems I had in the past with billing problems and other things.

One was on Sportsnet world 373 SNWLH Posted Currie Cup Kings and Pumas Friday August  21 3.30 a.m. - 5.30 am. This showed a Magazine show plus Soccer Berlin vs Bremen in it entirety.

Another was on Sportsnet Woprld 370 Sunday August 23 at 8.00 am. Posted Currie Currie Cup Kings and Pumas yet again. This showed Scottish Soccer "Ran vs Hib

Coincidentally, we expected the same game each time.  If it was unavailable for whatever reason, a message crawler at least at the beginning would have been better than nothing.

More Fun and Games @ DigitalHome about Navigatr (on Rogers Facebook page)

LINK

The person is arguing that we are against Navigatr because its NEW and we just don't like to change.

They miss the point completely.

There is nothing NEW about it when it come to the PVR portion.

Its just same old PVR record/play/organize/delete in a different dress, one which does not fit well, has a few parts missing, and in some cases has wiped-out the things its supposed to help us manage.

People will adapt and even embrace change if there is some benefit/value.

As other have said, "Where's the beef with Navigatr ?"

Anyone recall what a phone looked like a few years ago ?  It was black, bulky, used indoors only, and had a tail.

No screen, no keyboard/just a dial, you could not move it more than few feet, and certainly lacked a camera. Heck it could not even play music, let alone let you watch TV on it !

I'm disapponted that it's been almost a month and they still haven't fixed the font issue.  I don't even mind the tile feature but the font needs to be changed.  The name of the channel is so small you can't make it out at all.

I guess they really don't care.  I don't think it's a reason for me to switch to Bell for cable but it's really annoying.  I keep on waiting to see if they do an update that fixes the font issue but I guess it's going to take a few years at this rate to change anything.

The one thing that keeps me with Rogers is the customer service reps, most of them are pretty good and great service.  I was with Bell for Home Phone and their customer service is crap.   But Bell is always offering me really good deals to switch so I just might try it again and see how it goes if they give me a really good deal but it's a lot of work to switch services.

I can't imagine how terrible the roll out for the new government regulated cable packages and channels are going to be next year.  Rogers can't even get the Navigatr right I can't imagine the mess the new t.v. channel system will be.

I also called Rogers for a small issue last week and mentioned the Navigatr and the girl (who was super nice and helpful) told me she wasn't fully aware of the issues with it.  I was surprised since this is such a huge problem with the PVRs but I guess not everyone at Rogers is aware still.  She was so kind though and when I complained about the font, she wanted to find someone that could help me with it but I told her there was no solutions to it because I called in before for that reason.

I noticed while watching a movie on Shomi last night that the skip forward control only works at one speed now. I used to be able to increase the speed I could scan forward or reverse from slow to fast. Now it just shows one diamond which can't be changed.

One other possible glitch. We had a power failure mid-way through the movie. The Box rebooted when the power came back on but I had to re-start the movie from the beginning. I think it used to remember the spot on the movie and you could resume.

Anyone else notice.  Using a NextBox 3 with Navigtr ... Otherwise seems to be working ok.
